BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Building Services Engineering at Trafford College

Course description

This course is designed for school leavers who wish to enter the construction industry as technical apprentices or progress directly to university to study a range of degrees such as Project Management, Surveying, Architecture or Building Services Engineering. You will study how to design a variety of building services such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical systems and plumbing. You will work either individually on assignments and as a group on a project which brings all the aspects of building services together. There will be field trips to visit current buildings in order to widen your knowledge of building services systems. The main benefit of this programme is the wide range of careers available to you within the construction industry.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grades A*-C including Maths, English and Science

Assessment

By projects and assignments interviews, presentations and course work marked by college tutors and externally verified by BTEC Assessors.Successful completion of the course will lead to careers as Architects, Architectural Technologists, Project Managers, Design Engineers for Heating Ventilating & Air Conditioning, Electrical Systems, Control Systems, Mechanical Services as well as Quantity Surveying and Construction Site Management.

      The site is situated on Talbot Road (A5014), 2 miles from M602 slip Road (Junction 3) and 2 miles from Junction 7 of the M60. The College is located opposite Lancashire County Cricket Club and approximately 10 minutes walk from Old Trafford Football Ground.
