Business Administration provides a diverse range of opportunities, operating in all types of businesses; many of which can develop into managerial positions. Course content

An Advanced Apprenticeship in Business offers a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the workplace, gaining qualifications along the way. We have access to a range of high quality paid employment opportunities, jobs with local companies that come with structured training, leading to nationally recognised qualifications. The majority of your time will be spent in the workplace, gaining practical experience. In addition to this, you will undertake off the job training to increase your knowledge and understanding of how business operates.

Your experience and study may include:

  • Researching information
  • Organising and reporting on data
  • Producing documents in a business environment
  • ICT - using a range of software packages
  • Diary management  and event co-ordination
  • Running projects
  • Solve business problems
  • Managing your performance in a business environment
  • Evaluating and improving your performance in a business environment
  • Communicating within a business environment

You will enjoy the best of both worlds through a mixture of on and off the job training where you will develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to advance your career in a professional and fast moving environment.

Upon successful completion, you will achieve:

  • Diploma in Business Administration Level 3
  • Certificate in Principles of Business & Administration Level 3
  • Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT Level 2

Entry requirements

In general you will need to be able to work individually and as part of a team, producing high quality work to meet agreed targets. You will need to be well organised, apply good communication skills as well as effectively use a range of software packages and IT.

Whatever your GCSE grades or experience we will recommend an appropriate starting point for your Apprenticeship. At an advanced level, you must be able to operate independently, taking responsibility for your own work and able to make a real difference to the organisation.

Assessment

Business Administration Diplomas are designed to reflect the work of administration staff across a wide range of industries and types of organisations. They are competence based qualifications designed against the most up to date business practice and theory.

We will formally assess and recognise your knowledge and understanding to enhance your performance in the work place. You will attend a mixture of on and off the job learning, which will develop your skills in Business Administration, learning on the job from experienced people and off the job from Tutors with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

E Portfolio can be an option which enables  study to be completed when and where you want, you will build a portfolio online with an eportfolio system which allows you to store and manage documents.

We also offer specialist workshops to develop your Maths, English and ICT skills. Assessment is through on-line means, where you will demonstrate your understanding of key principles.

 

Financial information

You will be a paid an Apprenticeship salary by your employer, this will be agreed when you are offered a job. For those who are aged 16 - 18, Apprenticeship training is fully funded by the Government and all of the agreed costs of your learning will be met. For those aged 19+, partial funding is available. Future opportunities

Business Administration has great progression routes which will lead you to a rewarding career. The opportunities to specialise are endless and you can built upon your skills in administration in many directions, including HR, IT and marketing. From Advanced level 3 you can progress to level 4 and undertake a Higher Apprenticeship including higher education, studying HNC/HND in Business to further your qualifications.

From Level 3 there is a clear pathway of learning to enable you to progress:

  • NVQ 3 - Senior Administrator
  • NVQ 4 - Office Manager / Supervisor
  • Foundation Degree - Office Manager / Team Leader
  • Business Management Degree - Business Manager / General Management

    • CWT Chamber Training is based close to Coventry City Centre, which makes us easily accessible by public transport or car. However we offer Apprenticeship opportunities across all of Coventry and Warwickshire.

      CWT Chamber Training has a range of up to date, modern training facilities, where technology is widely used to ensure our courses are fun, informative and highly valued by employers.

      All rooms are resourced with up-to-date equipment i.e. smart boards, internet access and comprehensive information, advice and guidance materials are available with qualified staff on hand to support your decision making.

      In the main we will visit you at your employer’s premises and our qualified experienced Training Advisors will work with you on a one-to-one basis.
