Carpentry Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2 at Milton Keynes College
The construction sector is very diverse and requires a wide variety of specialist skills. A career in construction offers the opportunity to work in a variety of environments from large, new build developments through to domestic repairs and alterations. There are many progression routes available and construction offers the opportunity to pursue a rewarding and exiting career.
To take part in this programme you will need:
- GCSEs at grades A-D in English, maths and a science (or equivalent)
- good IT skills
- strong problem solving and team-working skills
- attention to detail and be able to use own initiative.
Much of the programme is assessed in the workplace, however you will be required to attend College. The number of days that you will attend will depend upon the needs of your employer and your existing experience and qualifications.Your time at College will lead to qualifications that are achieved by completing assignments and demonstrating your practical skills. Some elements such as functional skills are assessed by exam, whilst in the workplace you will also need to gather evidence to demonstrate your competence. You will be allocated an assessor who will guide and support you throughout your Apprenticeship programme.
Applicants who complete the programme can look forward to progressing to the Carpentry Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 programme.
