Beauty Therapy Level 1 Diploma at Newbury College

Course description

An entry qualification for anyone without formal qualifications wishing to progress to a Level 2 Beauty Therapy course, an excellent starting point for any students wishing to enter into a career in Beauty.

The course is suitable for school leavers who have completed compulsory education, those with any qualification or work history. Ideal for someone who is interested in the Beauty Industry. At Level 1 employment opportunities are limited therefore it is recommended that you progress to L2. You must ensure your attendance remains above 90% to enable you to be successful on your course.

Entry requirements

Entry Level: Students will be required to attend an interview and provide references. Students will have to complete Entry Level Functional Skills Maths and English as part of their course.

Level 1: Students will need to have four GCSE passes at grade E or above, preferably including Maths and English. Alternatively, students will be accepted on to the course if they have an equivalent vocational qualification at Level 1 with a pass grade or above, and Functional Skills Maths and English, preferable at Entry Level 3.

Mature applicants will be considered on relevant experience.

All students must have achieved, or show the ability to achieve, Maths and English to GCSE grade E or equivalent. Where a student has not yet fulfilled this requirement, a functional skills qualification is a mandatory part of this course.

Excellent attendance is required (100% expected, minimum 90% acceptable)
