Course description

This qualification provides a more vocational perspective, allowing students to interact with the business environment and experience real authentic business practices. Students can choose different pathways including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Production, ICT in Business and Business Environment. Prior knowledge of the subject is not essential.

This qualification provides a more vocational perspective, allowing students to interact with the business environment and experience real authentic business practices. Students can choose different pathways including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Production, ICT in Business and Business Environment. Prior knowledge of the subject is not essential. Benefits include; the processes, attractions and risks of setting up an enterprise. Developing knowledge of social and ethical issues in business. Application of numerical and written business techniques to a variety of business contexts. Exploring business problems and enabling students to identify possible solutions.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE passes A*-C or equivalent in 3 or more subject areas (including a minimum B grade in English).

Assessment

This 6 unit qualification is assessed by a combination of examination and coursework.
