Course description

**DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE**

 

Physics is the science that deals with physical matter, motion, energy and the laws that govern the universe. Our home study IGCSE course introduces you to the key concepts of the science, taking a look at areas including heat, light, magnetism and electricity. The course is packed full of plenty of examples, diagrams and explanations to aid your understanding and help you visualise the topics as you work through them. If you want to study any science at a more advanced level, this course will give you a good foundation on which to build your knowledge. An IGCSE in physics is a good first step towards a career in areas including astronomy, environmental science and engineering. 

 

You should allow for between 120 and 150 hours' study time, plus additional time for completing assignments. You will have tutor support for a period of up to 18 months from the date of enrolment.

You will need some basic maths for this course.

Assessment

This course follows specification 4PH0 from the awarding organisation Edexcel. Full details of the specification can be obtained from Edexcel's website.

Two exams: 2hrs (66.7% of marks) and 1hr (33.3% of marks)
Fifteen assignments
No coursework
All exams must be taken in the same session

For enrolments in the UK there are no additional postage and packing charges. For enrolments outside of the UK the following postage and packing charges apply:

  • EU – £75 for the first course and £40 for second and subsequent courses

Further information

This course is entirely self-contained so no additional textbooks are required.

This course contains a number of simple experiments you can carry out at home. You do not need laboratory access for this course.
