Business Studies A level OCR at Wimbledon College

Course description

The course aims for pupils to develop an interest and enthusiasm for the study of business through gaining a holistic understanding of how businesses operate. For pupils to develop a critical understanding of organisations and their ability to meet society’s needs and wants and that in doing so there is a need to be aware of ethical dilemmas and responsibilities faced by organisations and individuals.

Entry requirements

For Level 3 courses - five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C, with at least 3 B grades entry requirement for each course – this is usually a grade B or better in each subject to be taken at Advanced Level (or BTEC3) or relevant cognate subjects as set out in the published entry requirements (see page 12) for Level 2 courses - five or more GCSEs at A*-D

Assessment

At AS, there are two external examinations. Both Units are 1 hour 30 minutes written papers. At A2 Level a further 3 Units are required to be covered and a 2 hour written examination for each unit sat.
