Supply Chain Management Apprenticeship consists of:* Level 2 Certificate in Supply Chain Operations (QCF)* Mathematics Level 1 Functional Skills* English Level 1 Functional Skills* Information Communication Technology Level 1 Functional Skills* Employment rights and responsibilities* Personal learning and thinking skillsThe aim of this qualification is to provide people who contribute to the operation and/or management of supply chain activities across the economy with a qualification that demonstrates they have the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to carry out their role to a professional standard. The qualifications demonstrate to an employer that the employee is capable and competent to do their own job and confirms to the employee that they have a range of flexible skills, knowledge and understanding, backed up by a nationally recognised qualification.To meet the competencies at levels 2, learners are expected to be in an operational role in the supply chain sector. The qualifications are aimed at personnel involved in the process of planning, operating and/or implementing and controlling, as efficiently as possible, the operations of the supply chain, for example procurement, purchasing and supply, logistics, transport and operations management, within and between international boundaries.To achieve this qualification, learners must complete all units from mandatory group A, a minimum of two units from each of the optional groups B and C and a minimum of one unit from each of the optional groups D and E. A minimum of 27 credits is required.Group A - all unitsHealth, safety and security at workDevelop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics operationsMake an effective contribution to a business in the logistics sectorGroup B - 2 unitsObtain information on storage locations and facilitiesObtain information on distribution requirementsObtain information on the supply chainAnalyse information on the supply chainGroup C - 2 unitsMonitor the flow of supplies in the supply chainMonitor the distribution of suppliesMonitor the flow of returned suppliesMonitor the transportation of suppliesPlace and monitor orders with suppliersGroup D - 1 unitProcess customs documentation for goodsProcess transport documentation for goodsProcess financial documentation for goodsOrganise the preparation of documentation for the transportation of goodsGroup E - 1 unitSelect suppliers in the supply chain or a logistics operationProcure supplies or services in the supply chain or a logistics operationControl supplies at storage locations and facilitiesAdminister contractsEmployment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and wider aspects of the occupation/sector as determined by the logistics sector.Functional skillsSupply Chain Management Apprenticeship candidates who have achieved a good (A*- A) GCSE in English, maths or ICT may not need to attempt level 1 functional skills in communication, application of number or Information technology.The support delivery model for this element of the apprenticeship will be day release sessions outlined at the beginning of the course as to the frequency and attendance times.

Entry requirements

All prospective candidates will be interviewed and complete a Skills Scan & Initial assessment.

Assessment

Level 2 Certificate in Supply Chain Operations competence based assessments by portfolio.
