Animal Management - Level 2 Extended Certificate at HARTPURY COLLEGE
This is an introductory course designed to provide you with a basic understanding of the animal management industry.
If you are interested in learning about the essential principles of animal management, then this course is an ideal option and also provides an excellent stepping stone on to the next level of study (i.e. Level 2 Diploma Animal Management)
Our extensive animal collection on campus allows you to experience the practical elements of working with animals - including small mammals such as rodents, rabbits and meerkats and vivarium species including reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.
The subjects below are currently offered on this course but are subject to change:
- Plan and monitor animal feeding
- Manage animal accommodation
- Introduction to the principles and practices of animal behaviour and handling
- Understand the principles of animal biology
At least four GCSEs at Grades D to G (in any subjects) are required for this course
Students under 19 on 31 August 2015 are free (full time courses only). Examination fees for main qualifications are also free.
Students aged 19 to 23 may need to pay tuition fees. We may be able to waive your fees if you are unemployed and receiving Jobseekers Allowance, studying your first full level 2 qualification or level 3 qualification.
Students aged 24 and over. You may need to pay for your course.
Educational visits charge: An annual £65 fee is payable for all students and covers the cost of outside visits, special speakers and a contribution to the cost of administration.
Career opportunities: kennel or cattery worker, pet shop assistant, veterinary assistant or receptionist and animal collection worker
