Health and Social Care Certificate Level 1 at Gloucestershire College

Course description

This course gives you the opportunity to develop a basic understanding of the skills required to work in health and social care and the needs of those you’ll be working with.

This qualification is designed to introduce learners to the care needs of children and adults. In addition to this course you may be given the opportunity to study for a number of additional qualifications including Functional Skills.

Entry requirements

  • You will need to have 3 GCSE's at grade E including English or Entry 3 in English & Maths Functional Skills.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barrring Service) will be completed

Assessment

You will be assessed through your coursework. You will be advised on a text book to purchase and you need to be prepared to pay for educational visits that will take place during the course.

Future opportunities

Upon completion, you may be able to progress on to a Level 2 qualification in health and social care, or to seek employment within the care industry.
