Course description

This is a fascinating subject to study which will develop your critical ability, enable you to evaluate sociological thinking and quite probably change the way you see the world. It gives you the opportunity to examine controversial and influential ideas about society, to reflect on your own experience of life and apply theories to the systematic study of society. It is also an ideal partner to Psychology A-Level.

You will study topics such as:

  • Education with Theories and Methods
  • Crime and Deviance with Theories and Methods
  • Culture and Identity, Families and Households, Poverty and Welfare and either Health or Work
  • Beliefs in Society, Global Development, Stratification and Differentiation or the Media

GCSE English (A*–C).
