BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in ICT at Stepney Green Maths and Computing College

Course description

This course provides full-time learners the opportunity to enter employment in the IT sector or to progress to vocational qualifications such as the Edexcel BTEC Higher Nationals in IT.

There are several specialist pathways consisting of Networking, Programmer, System Analyst, IT Engineer, Graphic Designer and Web Developer.

You will complete 6 assignments over the course of two years.

Compulsory Units Include

UNIT 1 - Communications and Employability Skills for IT (10 credits)
UNIT 2 - Computer System (10 credits)
UNIT 3 - Information system (10 credits)

The exam board states that all of the above must be studied and passed.

Some of the Optional Units Include

UNIT 14 - Event Driven Programming (10 credits)
UNIT 17 - Project Planning (10 credits)
UNIT 22 - Developing computer games (10 credits)
UNIT 31 - Computer Animation (10 credits)
UNIT 30 - Digital Graphics (10 credits)

You will complete 3 optional units.

5 A* - C including English and/or Maths A* - C.
