Course content

OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma

(1 A level) 6 single lessons per week.

 

Mandatory units: (+ a choice of 3 optional units from a list of 22)

l Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport

l Sports Coaching

l Current Issues in Sport

l The Physiology of Fitness

 

 

 

Optional units include: Coaching, Nutrition, Psychology, Biomechanics, Sports Injury.

 

Cambridge Technical in Sport is exam-free so suits all learning styles. There is no external assessment.

Entry requirements

A keen interest in the industry of sport and recreation and a continuation from the BTEC sport course at KS4 is desirable but not essential.

Coursework moderated.

Future opportunities

This qualification is ideal for the workplace due to the combination of transferable theoretical and practical skills.

The great thing about it is that it still gives you a choice of opportunities once you’ve completed the course which include:

  •  Employment, where you can put your new practical skills towards generating an income.
  •  Higher education, such as a degree course at university.
  •  Access to higher education is possible if you take the Level 3 qualifications because they offer UCAS points.
