Course description

During this course you will be looking at two units:

1) Religion and Life based on a study of Christianity

2) Religion and Society based on the study of Christianity and Hinduism

Course content

Religion and Life based on a study of Christianity
Students will be studying four sections in this topic:
 Belief in God
 Matters of Life and Death
 Marriage and the Family
 Religion and Community
Religion and Society based on the study of Christianity and Hinduism
Students will be studying four sections in this course:
 Rights and Responsibilities
 Environmental Issues
 Peace and Conflict
 Crime and Punishment

 

Assessment

All students will complete an end of unit assessment using their exercise books and notes they have made in lessons. The first two questions will be based on subject knowledge and the third question will apply their knowledge to everyday life.
On successful completion of the course, students will either be awarded level 1, 2 or 3.

Future opportunities

RE allows you to develop your thinking skills and appreciate other people’s views. Therefore, this qualification can be regarded as a preparation for Level 1 in any of the Humanities. As a Christian College, we also believe that you will gain personal spiritual development which you can reflect on throughout your life.
