BTEC Sport Subsidiary Diploma (Single) at Sir John Hunt Community Sports College

Course description

The sixty credit BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma extends the specialist work-related focus from the level
three BTEC Certificate and covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the appropriate vocational
sector. This is a two year course which is broadly equivalent to one GCE A Level. The BTEC Level three
Subsidiary Diploma offers an engaging programme for those who are clear about the area of employment that
they wish to enter. The qualification also provides career development opportunities for those already in work.
The course consists of a wide range of modules, including the following:
Unit 1 Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport.
Unit 2 The Physiology of Fitness.
Unit 3 Assessing risk in Sport.
Unit 4 Fitness Training and Programming.
Unit 5 Sports Coaching.
Unit 8 Practical Team Sports.
