Applied Science BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Knowsley Community College

Course description

In this course, you can follow one of two routes - Applied Science or Medical Science. The Applied Science route will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills required to work in a wide variety of scientific industries. The Medical Science route will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills to work in the health industry. Whichever route you choose there will be an opportunity to experience aspects of Forensic Science.

  • Scientific Investigations
  • Biomedical Science Techniques (Medical Science)

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs grade C or above in appropriate subjects, including English or Equivalent vocational qualifications (e.g. a relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit or Distinction)

Future opportunities

This course can be used for entry to university, employment or an apprenticeship. At the end of your first year you will have completed a substantial number of units towards your two year programme, achieved a qualification recognized by employers and which carries UCAS points towards HE progression. You will build on these units with further learning in a second year of study at the college.
