Fashion and Clothing National Extended Diploma Level 3 at Sunderland College
This course is ideal if you enjoy art and design and, in particular, fashion and textile related projects and are looking for a pathway to higher level courses and a range of potential future careers in textiles, surface pattern and fashion.
You will explore a range of subjects over the two years including:
- Fashion design
- Pattern cutting
- Prof portfolio development
- Experimental textiles
- Printed, embroidered and constructed textiles
You’ll need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above, one of which needs to be in an art and design subject. You can also join the course with a BTEC level 2 Diploma in Art and Design providing you have a merit or distinction grade.
You will be taught to develop practical skills and knowledge in all fashion and textile areas through lessons taught in specialist studios. The course will involve visits to regional and national exhibitions shows and galleries where you will study and record the work of various fashion designers, craftspeople, artists and designers
After successfully completing the course you’ll have a wide range of choices to take your passion further. You could continue your studies at university and specialise in a specific subject area of fashion and textiles or you could find employment in fashion or textile related industries.
