Arboriculture and Forestry - Level 3 Diploma at Easton & Otley College

Course description

The course has a highly practical base, and includes theory elements for each unit of study which are designed to develop a higher understanding of the practical skills covered in Arboriculture and Forestry.

It carries the same UCAS points weighting and is equivalent to studying 3 A Levels.

  • Arboricultural Tree Identification, Planting and Care
  • Arboricultural Tree Climbing, Pruning and Dismantling

  • Tree Surveys and Reports
  • Landbased Machinery
  • Forest and Woodland Management
  • Specialist Forest Machinery

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grades A-C (English, Maths and Science at Grade C or above) Diploma Level 2 (Merit/ Distinction overall).

Future opportunities

This course will prepare you for a range of roles within the arboriculture industry. On completion you could become a contracting tree surgeon, a junior arboriculture officer in local government, a tree surveyor, a woodland manager or progress onto a Higher Education course.
