Course description

Philosophy and Ethics is the study of issues and questions that have been considered throughout human history and continue to challenge who we are and what is important to us today in the 21st Century. It provides students with the opportunity to learn about Philosophers and their ideas as well as developing their own ideas about life, beliefs and how people behave.

Course content

This course is a good foundation for further study of Religious Studies, Philosophy or Theology. Universities value the way the course encourages students to evaluate and question ideas. Students will acquire a range of skills such as analysis, interpretation, critical thinking and evaluative pieces of writing that will prepare them well for higher education and employment. The ethical areas of the course have relevance to all parts of life including business, medicine, government and law.

GCSE Grade C or above in Religious Studies and English Language
