Course description

This is a two year course and the qualification is broadly equivalent to one GCE A - level . On successful completion of a Cambridge Technical National (CTEC) Introductory Diploma in Health & Social Care , students may progress into employment or continue their study in Health & Social Care at a higher level . CTECH qualifications are designed to provide specialist work - related qualifications in a range of sectors. On the Health & Social Care course, students will learn thr ough a range of activities based in and outside the classroom. These activities include producing written reports, filmed training guides, designing and executing activities with a variety of ages and abilities , role plays, presentation s and work experience. The Health & Social Care sector provides people across the UK with statutory, private and voluntary care services in the three core areas of health, social care and early years. The CTEC National Introductory Diploma qualification helps to develop knowledge and understanding of the Health & Social Care industry which is an employment sector currently experiencing rapid growth, offering a growing number of opportunities for young people in the local area. The knowledge and understanding gained on this course are highly transferable and will enable i ndividuals to meet changing circumstances whichever pathway they opt for on completion of the course . Students will gain a nationally recognised qualification to enter employment or progress onto higher education.

Minimum GCSE entry requirements: Points requirement is met for Entry to Sixth Form L3

Assessment

The assessment of the CTEC National Introductory Diploma in Health & Social Care is portfolio based and allows learners to receive feedback on their progress throughout the course as they provide evidence towards the grading criteria. Evidence for assessment may be generated through a range of diverse activities including assignment and project work, case studies, workplace assessments, role play and oral presentation.
