Business GCSE Block B at Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre

Course description

You will find out how to think like an economist and learn how the economy functions, the government’s role in the economy and its impact on business. You will also examine what causes businesses to fail and how businesses grow. You will study many issues within the world of business such as inequality, economic factors and interest rates. Unit 1 – Introduction to Small Business (assessed by multiple choice exam) – 25% Unit 2 – Introduction to Small Business (assessed by Controlled Assessment) – 25% Unit 3 – Building a Business (assessed by written exam) – 50% You will take a written examination paper with multiple choice and objective test questions based on the unit. The Controlled Assessment is a timed report that is undertaken in exam conditions within the classroom.

Entry requirements

No formal entry qualifications are required for Level 2 courses. The intense nature of this course requires commitment, good attendance and self-motivation.

Future opportunities

This course is intended for students wishing to progress onto GCE AS or A2 Level Business Studies.
