Course description

Based within the Miskin Theatre, the Level 3 Diploma In Music Technology offers access to high end professional training and facilities delivered by a diverse range of experienced industry practitioners. Trainees work to deliver recordings and productions with an emphasis on the vocational requirements of an ever changing industry. Suitable for aspiring sound designers, technicians, music producers/supervisors, and audio technicians for film and television. Rated as a grade 1 (outstanding) course by Ofsted.

Course content

This course is based on an industrial model via our production company, Miskin Music.Miskin Music produces a diverse array of live and recorded music productions. Trainees participate in 'real world' professional processes with an emphasis on attracting audiences and consumers. Music producers will undertake projects which mirror the demands of this exciting and ever changing industry. Evolving areas such as viral marketing, and the productive use of social networking are central to our working ethos. Trainees will also develop and refine an online portfolio/personal website, increasingly seen as a vital resource for progression either into university or employment. A recognition and understanding of career paths and employment opportunities are embedded in our work, offering trainees an insight into sound design, composing for film/tv, live sound engineering, as well as music production.Projects/processes include;Production & Sequencing Techniques Music Composition & Production for Film/TV Audio Books Soundscaping and Sound Design Producing and marketing your recordings Live Performance Multi-Channel Mixing and ProductionV iral Marketing and Social Networking Live Sound Engineering

Entry requirements

5 GCSE (A-C Grades) or equivalent. Basic music keyboard/music skills.

Financial information

£150 per year Miskin company contribution. Cost of materials (portable hard drive, headphones etc).
