Beauty Therapy Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at Bedford College

Course description

To be accepted onto this programme you will need to apply for one of the three positions available in BROOKS each academic year. This course will offer you the opportunity to advance your skills to cover the range of treatments required for a career as a professional beauty therapist. You will cover a range of topics, such as providing body and facial treatments, electrical epilation treatments, and massage treatments.

Course content

During this course you will study to achieve the following qualifications: • Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 3 Diploma • English Functional Skills Level 2 • Maths Functional Skills Level 2 • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills • Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

Entry requirements

To begin this course you will need to have completed your Beauty Therapy Level 2 programme and complete a successful interview BROOKS. You will also need to have a basic knowledge of maths and English, with good communication skills. It will be an advantage to have achieved three GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above in English, Maths and Science. You will also need to demonstrate a keen interest in beauty and be able to address clients and colleagues in a professional manner. Your personal presentation needs to be of a good standard, and you should be willing to work flexible hours within the agreed contract hours to suit the salon. You will be asked to undertake an initial assessment and interview prior to being accepted onto the programme.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you can progress into employment as a senior beauty therapist or other beauty-related job roles, or into higher education, such as a foundation degree in beauty therapy, salon management or other programmes.
