Religious Studies develops skills of writing analysis and expression. It is on a level that has considerable value for many professions such as law, journalism and politics.
Technically Religious Studies is not just a ‘subject’ but really a ‘field of study.’ This means it’s an area that is studied from a number of different perspectives and so requires those who study it to be familiar with a wide range of academic skills. To study religion could mean that you will develop skills from a variety of subjects such as history, sociology, anthropology, theology, philosophy, science, and psychology. Each subject has a unique way of studying religion, offers a very different perspective and so brings new knowledge and understanding about this enormous aspect of human life.
