Brickwork Level 2 Diploma at Lincoln College

Course description

Bricklaying is a programme that will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress through the levels of brick and block laying whilst exploring theoretically and practically preparing you for the construction industry.
Successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma could lead onto potential careers including: professional bricklayer, working within the construction industry and working as a bricklayer.
During the course, you will study: Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction; Principles of Building Construction, Information and Communication; Building Solid Walling, Isolated and Attached Piers; Interpreting Working Drawings to Set Out Masonry Structures; Construct Cavity Walling Forming Masonry Structures.

Entry requirements

You will need to have successfully completed a Level 1 Bricklaying programme, GCSE’s in Mathematics, English and Science (minimum Grade E). You will also be required to pass a trade test as-well as a literacy and numeracy test.
You will be required to attend an interview and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).


Assessment is a combination of practical tests and online theory examinations.
