Course description

Philosophy explores those 'big questions' about life, the universe and everything in a deep way. Ethics deals with ideas about righ conduct and good living. It involves the exploration and debate of some interesting moral dilemmas.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Religious Studies or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to religious studies or the more general social sciences such as a Social Worker, Teacher or Youth Worker. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer. You could take this course either alongside, or to prepare for, a GCSE in Religious Studies or an equivalent vocational level 1 or 2 qualification in a related subject such as Humanities. You could go into a job related to religious studies by doing work some based training that relates to people. This could be through an apprenticeship where you will gain relevant experience and qualifications such as an NVQ in Health and Social Care in whilst earning money at the same time. You could also go straight into a job as the course will provide you with the basic skills and knowledge that many employers are looking for.
