Youthwork Practice Certificate Level 2 at City of Bristol College

Course description

The course will require you to attend a 3 hour session facilitated by experienced youth workers each week to explore the key points relating to youth work and also to discuss and share ideas with learners working in a range of other youth work settings. You will study a range of mandatory and optional youthwork topics.

Course content

Course modules include: • Youthwork principles and practice • Supporting the provision of information and advice to young people • Working with young people on a one-to-one basis • Understanding how groups are formed and how to work with them • Evaluating and reflecting on activities in their work place • Understanding the skills, knowledge and values required to practice within youthwork • Communicating effectively with young people in a work based setting.

Entry requirements

• 4 GCSEs grade D • To be organised • To have initiative • To be reliable • To be willing to work as a member of a team.
