Fashion BTEC Level 2 at Sutton College of Learning for Adults - SCOLA

Course description

The course aims to develop your practical sewing skills and understanding of fashion and garment construction. You will explore and develop hand and machine stitch techniques, construction and finished processes such as pockets, fastenings, collars, cuffs and facings. Using a variety of materials threads and trimmings you will produce a collection of samples and a finished garment. In addition to this you will learn techniques relating to Pattern Cutting and develop a finished pattern. You will be encouraged to research and record the work of historical and contemporary designers. You are required to complete two units to gain the award.

Entry requirements

Literacy and numeracy skills, some knowledge of clothesmaking skills, a foundation GNVQ or related level 1 or 2 qualifications, or relative work experience.
