Childcare Level 1 and Level 2 at Youth Education Project (YEP!)
Childcare for vocation at YEP! readies learners for the workplace.
With an emphasis on learning the skills needed to work in the Childcare sector, the NOCN level 1 and 2 courses cover child development milestones, food, nutrition and safeguarding along with other crucial knowledge such as the governments Early Years and Foundation Stage (EYFS) agenda.
The course explores options and pathways for learners and tailored help with progression is a key part of the course. Each level takes around 25 weeks to complete and could lead to a level three apprenticeship with a nursery.
Work experience in Nurseries is also included within the childcare qualification
You will be enrolled onto a Programme of Study course , a recognised full time programme which will in addition to the Childcare Qualification include Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT and/or GCSE
We will also work on your Personal and Social Development (PSD) improving employability skills, CV and cover letter writing, interview techniques, money management, healthy eating to name just a few subjects covered.
There will also be opportunities to join in social events run by YEP such as football tournaments, pool and table tennis competitions, visits to mega zone and bowling to build on team work, communication skills and confidence.
There are no entry requirements apart from a willingness to learn and a interest in babies and children in their ealy years
You will build a portfolio of work through out your programme which will be you end assessment. No exams will have to be sat.
There are no costs atached to the qualification. There is a bursary that can be applied for to help with the cost of travel and lunches. Ask for more information when you visit the YEP Centre
