Religious Studies A Level at Ivybridge Community College

Course description

“The unexamined life is not worth living” Socrates Do you enjoy discussion and debate? Do you like to think about questions such as:  Are any civilians truly innocent in war?  Is there any purpose to suffering? What do we really mean when we say something is ‘good’?  Can we be sure about anything? Would you like to learn about some of the greatest thinkers that have ever existed and their ideas? Would you like to challenge yourself intellectually? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then Religious Studies is for you!

Entry requirements

In order to be considered for an Advanced Subsidiary Course, which leads to a full Advanced Level, students will be expected to have gained an absolute minimum of five GCSE grades at C or above in Mathematics and English, with a minimum of B grades in their chosen subjects having been studied at a higher tier. Students achieving a C grade at GCSE in their chosen subject may be accepted only by negotiation and agreement with the Team Leader for that subject.
