Motor Vehicle Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at PETROC

Course description

The motor vehicle apprenticeship can be completed at two different levels and covers the service and repair of modern vehicles. This will involve the use of sophisticated diagnostic equipment and repair procedures.

Course content

At Level 3 you will be required to diagnose and rectify a range of faults related to light vehicles. Knowledge will be assessed by a technical diploma in both theory and practical subjects and be completed at college.

Entry requirements

You must be employed in the relevant industry. Successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance. GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English or ICT would be an advantage. Assessment of the students prior knowledge and experience at interview will determine entry onto the course.


Assessment is carried out by practical workshop tasks, online tests, and written phase end tests.
