French A level at The Ecclesbourne School

Course description

A-level French builds on the skills acquired at GCSE, promoting the use of foreign language in the classroom, encouraging an understanding of the foreign culture and including a number of applied elements. With A Level French you will never be short of intellectual challenge and stimulation- if you have a love of all things fran├žais, and want to extend your language, then the French course is definitely for you. Units for AS will build on and extend familiar GCSE themes, such as sport and pastimes, education, travel, transport and holidays. You will broaden your perspective to examine the media, advertising and the arts.

Units at A2 are intended to reflect your greater maturity and developing competency in French. You will study topics relating to the advancement of science and technology, the environment, societal issues and cultural themes.
