Engineering Level 3 Extended Diploma at Lancaster and Morecambe College

Course description

This course offers a theoretical and practical application of knowledge of Engineering. The course will cover both, electrical and mechanical engineering aspects, providing you with a grounded introduction to the world of engineering.

Course content

You will study the following units: • Health and Safety • Mechanical Principles and Applications • Business Operations in Engineering • Engineering Drawing • Engineering Processes • Engineering Materials All LMC students will receive tutorial support

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade A*-C including English, science and maths OR a Level 2 in Engineering and GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C. Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager

Assessment

This course is continuously assessed using a range of methods including projects, assignments, courseworkand practical performance.

Financial information

Students are expected to pay £50 towards course materials and external visits

Future opportunities

The course can lead onto the HNC Engineering course at LMC or a Foundation Degree in Engineering.

Further information

On completion of this course you will receive BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering. This is equivalent to 2 A Levels and a recognised route to Higher Education.

You will be expected to undertake occasional home study on this course
