BIOLOGY AS/A2 (AQA) at Royds School

Course description

Biology is the study of life and living things.  You will develop the following skills:

  • Data analysis skills
  • Statistical skills
  • Literacy skills
  • Numeracy skills

 

Course content

AS: Biological molecules, cells, how organisms exchange substances with their environment, genetic information, variation and relationships between organisms.

A Level: Energy transfers in and between organisms, how organisms respond to changes in their internal and external environments, genetics, populations, evolution and ecosystems.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above.  (Biology/Science at 6 and Maths and English at 5).

Assessment

You will be assessed by written papers and practical assessments.
