Science GCSE Resit at Wyke Sixth Form College

Course description

This course is for students who have studied at Key Stage 4 and have achieved a grade D.

Course content

We offer AQA GCSE Core science and GCSE Additional Science.

GCSE Core and Additional Sciences include studying Biology, Chemistry and Physics with 3 separate examination papers each worth 25% of the overall mark and a Controlled Practical Assessment worth 25% of the marks.

Both courses cover wide ranging aspects of the three sciences including Health, Plant, The Environment, Polymers, The Earth, Energy, Electricity and Waves.

Future opportunities

Students who successfully pass their single level two year at Wyke can look to progress onto level three at the College or use their qualifications to access another course, apprenticeship or employment opportunity offered by another provider.

For students on a level three programme, GCSE Science may be a requirement for specific degree courses.
