AS Psychology at Phoenix Academy

Course description

This course aims to: Offer the opportunity to learn about the applications of psychology and how theory is applied in real life situations Introduce learners to carrying out research in practical settings as well as introducing a range of methods, issues and debates concerning research. AS G541: Psychological Investigations: learners will study and conduct four investigations G542: Core Studies: learners will study 15 core studies, which are either classics in psychology or raise interesting debates and issues in psychology.

Entry requirements

There are no specialist requirements beyond the standard entry requirements, however a grade B or above in English would be helpful.

Future opportunities

A level Psychology goes equally well with science and humanities subjects. A growing number of careers have psychological aspects including - nursing, education, health, counselling, advertising, marketing and forensics.
