Year One (AS)

The AS modules are:
Unit 1 – Approaches in Psychology: the Biological (Physiological) approach, the Psychodynamic approach, the Behaviourist approach and the Cognitive approach.
Unit 2 – 10 core psychological studies and applied research methods.


Year Two (A2)
Unit 3 – Research methods and issues in Research
Unit 4 – Controversies: · Gender bias and cultural bias in Psychology · The question of free will and determinism in respect of human behaviour

The status of psychology as a Science
Topics · Memory · Relationships Applications · Forensic Psychology

Entry requirements

A* - C grades with a B grade in the applicant's chosen A level subjects for automatic entry. If an applicant attains C grades in the GCSE subjects they wish to study at A levels, entry is subject to a discussion with the Heads of Subject and Head of Sixth Form
