Economics A-Level at Wymondham High School

Course description

Economics is rarely out of the news – in fact it very often is the news. Studying the subject at A level will help you develop an understanding of current economic issues and problems as well as the institutions that affect our everyday lives. You will look at economic concepts and theories in a range of contexts and appreciate their value and limitations in explaining real world phenomena like market forces, inflation, unemployment and the role of the government. The course will also explore international, social and environmental issues. If you would like to develop an enquiring, critical and thoughtful ‘economist’s mind’ and prepare yourself with the skills, qualities and attitudes which will equip you for the challenges of a modern working life, this could be the course for you.
