Children and Young People's Workforce - Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship at Stoke on Trent College

Course description

This course develops the knowledge and skills to be a professional childcare practitioner. The Government policy is that all staff working in Early Years should hold at least a Level 3 qualification, as set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework. This qualification confers competence and serves as the required qualification (for all new practitioners) for registration and regulatory requirements in the Early Learning and Childcare sector.

Course content

Entry requirements

The Learner should have prior experience of the childcare sector and be employed in a position where they are able to demonstrate competencies at this level. The learner must have achieved GCSE grade C or above in English and at least grade D in Maths. Level 2 ICT will form part of this qualification.

Assessment

Direct observations in the workplace will be carried out by a college assessor. Written work will be assessed by your tutor or assessor.

Future opportunities

There are progression opportunities following successful completion to the Foundation degree in Early Childhood Studies or other suitable Level 4 qualifications.

Further information

Employer Rights and Responsibilities will also form part of this qualification and will be delivered by the tutor and the workplace.
