Music at ALDRIDGE SCHOOL - A SCIENCE COLLEGE

Course description

GCSE Music is about making and listening to music. It covers performing, composing, and listening to a wide variety of musical styles including popular music, world music, and classical music. Pupils can choose to use music technology such as sequencing and recording. Pupils will enjoy the course if they want to study a subject which involves: Performing, Listening to all kinds of music, Composing or arranging music, Playing music with others - instrumental ensembles, rock band, choirs, orchestras. Pupils will improve their skills in performing and composing different types of music. As well as covering Music at GCSE the course will help to develop Key Skills in Communication and Information Technology which could be useful to pupils whatever they do afterwards. In particular Music offers opportunities to develop the wider Key skills in working with others e.g. taking part in rehearsals and performing.
