Course description

Sport is no longer just about physical performance but is now a science.

AS/A2 Physical Education has all the answers to these questions and more. Sport is the fastest growing and most lucrative industry in the world and shows no sign of slowing down, even amidst a global financial meltdown. Is there something in it for you?

Course content

Students will develop knowledge of how exercise physiology and the application of psychological knowledge can optimise performance and of contemporary influences in sport and their impact on the performer. Practically, students perform, analyse and evaluate their own performance, identify areas of performance that they could improve, and suggest causes and appropriate corrective measures.

Entry requirements

At least 5 GCSE's at C grade or better, including a C in GCSE English.

Assessment

70% written examination 30% coursework.
