Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) Advanced Apprenticeship at Grimsby Institute

Course description

This Apprenticeship is designed for those who are employed and is a Level 3 qualification. You will need to be working with children under 5 years, but to gain knowledge of child development up to 7 years only.

As an Early Years Apprentice you will build on the knowledge and skills needed when
working with the under 5’s.

You could work as a Nursery Worker, providing care for young children or a Nursery Practitioner, both roles require knowledge of delivering the Early Years Framework.

The training methods include observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence
including written evidence and reflective accounts.

Entry requirements

Most occupations require a minimum of grade C in English, Maths and ICT, although some only require a minimum of grade D.

Some occupations within the Engineering sector will require Science at a minimum of grade C.

A Vocational Assessment may have to be taken and passed for some Apprenticeships before acceptance onto the programme.

Assessment

Training is on a day release basis at the Institute working with the Childcare
department where a Tutor will assess and monitor your progress.
