Level 3 Information Technology at Droitwich Spa High School

Course description

IT Level 3 BTEC prepares you for the world of work. The course is more about learning and using skills than it is about recalling information. The course is assessed via a portfolio of evidence.

Unit 1: Communication and Employability Skills for IT
Unit 2: Computer Systems

A further unit is studied in Year 12 to complete the Certificate.

3 further units can be studied in Year 13 to top-up the qualification to the Subsidiary Diploma in IT.

Entry requirements

Five passes at GCSE is usual, although students may be accepted in other exceptional circumstances.

Previous ICT qualifications are NOT required but a basic understanding and knowledge of both the hardware and software of a standard, stand-alone computer system is desirable.
