Start Health, Social Care and Early Years at Burnley College

Course description

This course will help students learn more about the skills needed to work within the health, social care and early years environments.

This course provides an introduction to a range of subjects, including: Health Needs, Creative and Leisure Activities for Children and Adults, Communication between Children aged 0-3 years and Adults, Planning for the Physical Care Needs of Children aged 0-3 years and English and Maths.

Within Health and Social Care, students will have the opportunity to study using a wide range of professional standard equipment and resources including our specialist Iris Suite Dementia Facility.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications; all applicants will be interviewed and assessed to ensure that this is the appropriate course.


Assessment is via assignments set throughout the course.

Future opportunities

A BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Health and Social Care or Caring for Children.
