Motorsport Level 3 IMI Extended Diploma at Bridgwater College
Are you interested in an exciting career in motorsport? Would you like a career in motorsport development and design, track side maintenance, restoration or management of a race team? Do you want to go to university or enter Motorsport employment at technician level?
The IMI Extended Diploma in Motorsport will give you the experience and level of qualification to pursue one of these career routes. It will also appeal to those of you who have a keen interest in the Motorsport Automotive industry and wish to move to a related career or higher education.
The IMI Extended Diploma in Motorsport is an alternative route into university since it combines significant academic achievement with applied and relevant technology subjects. It is an ideal progression route on to the College's own Foundation Degree in Motorsport Engineering with Oxford Brookes University. We now also offer the final year top-up for students to gain a BSc(Hons) in Motorsport Technology.
Year 2. Level 3 Extended Diploma in Motorsport
- Race Car Set-up
- Engine and Chassis Technology.
- Data Logging and Visual Display Systems
- Component Inspection Test Methods
- Low Carbon Technologies
- Rolling Road Engine Testing
- Motorsport vehicle Maths and Science
For entry point level 3, the following or equivalent also need to have been previously achieved:
- IMI Level 2 Extended Diploma in Motorsport
- IMI Level 2 Light Vehicle
- BTEC Level 2 Light Vehicle or Motorsport
Once you have gained successful completion of The IMI level 3 Extended Diploma in Motorsport and gained a Maths GCSE grade B (minimum), you will have the exciting opportunity to access a Foundation Degree in Motorsport Engineering course, run here at Bridgwater College. You will gain access to a wide range of possible careers and higher education opportunities and develop the transferable skills and key skills that employers now look for.
