Painting and Decorating - C&G Level 1 Diploma at Chichester College

Course description

This course is for students who wish to learn practical skills and knowledge of painting and decorating. It provides an excellent opportunity to obtain a sound base in basic skills and knowledge of painting and decorating required by employers.

Course content

The course will introduce students to the knowledge of health & safety and the construction industry, also the knowledge and practical skills of painting and decorating - surface preparation, applying paint, applying wallpaper, decorative finishes, access equipment. There will be English and Maths lessons to help prepare you for work in the trade. 

The course will 25 % theory training and 75% practical training, There will be classroom based learning with varied activities and workshop based learning to develop the practical training. 

Assessment

Assessment for the theory will be multiple choice tests, the assessment for the practical will be a range of timed practical tests to meet specified standards and tolerances

Further information

Our workshop in G Block has dedicated work areas to practise all
the practical skills required. All hand tools and equipment are supplied for
training with the option of using any of your own hand tools. The college
has hot & cold food and refreshment outlets within the campus.
 
You will require dedicated work wear overalls, bib and brace (white) and
steel toe cap footwear and pens, pencils and a note pad in a folder to
all theory and practical lessons.
