Course description

Why study Spanish?

One of the benefits of learning another language to a higher level is that the skills you learn will be useful in many other subjects. Spanish is becoming increasingly popular as companies develop their links around the world for example with South American countries where Spanish is spoken. You don’t have to want to be a Spanish teacher to reap the benefits of learning Spanish.

AS: SPAN1 Listening, Reading and Writing paper

AS: SPAN2 Speaking paper

A2: SPAN3 Listening, reading & writing paper

A2: SPAN4 Speaking paper All assessment is by exam - there is no coursework. Topics include Media, Popular Culture, Health and Relationships.

At A2 the topics covered are the Environment, Multicultural Society, Social Issues and two cultural topics – for example a region of the Spanish speaking world or a film director.

Entry requirements

Grade B in GCSE Spanish.
