Performing Arts BTEC Level 3 at Melksham Oak Community School

Course description

The BTEC Level 3 course in Performing Arts covers 9 units of theatre which span a whole range of styles and genres. There is a real mix of contemporary and experimental theatre right the way through to classical texts.

The units chosen are aimed at giving the students the greatest breadth of experience in practical and analytical skills, preparing them for a variety of different career paths in the theatre. Students gain knowledge and practical understanding of the chosen areas and are required to experiment, research, review and refine their work, whilst gaining an understanding of what it is to create performance.

The course offers a selection of units to support and extend students where needed to achieve the best possible achievement for the individual. We see as much live theatre as possible and frequently showcase our work to the public.
