Rolling Stock Apprenticeship at Siemens PLC

Course description

As an apprentice, you will receive first-rate training and tuition from Siemens and Northampton College and you will work towards nationally-recognised engineering qualifications including a NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations, a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and an NVQ Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance.

In the workplace, you will be part of a busy production team preparing trains for service, completing routine maintenance, and carrying-out fault finding. 

You will also visit other depots, departments, customers, and suppliers nationally, and take part in team-building days, volunteering events, and learner forums.

Entry requirements

For an advanced apprenticeship you should have, or be expecting a minimum of four GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above including:

 Maths • English • Science

Other relevant higher level qualifications such as A levels, NVQs and Diplomas are required for a higher apprenticeship.
