Mathematics AS & A Level at Garibaldi College

Course description

A-Level Maths is not just about learning new mathematical processes and language. It is about learning to think logically, being able to identify incorrect reasoning and using your skills to relate mathematical situations to real world situations.

The course is not easy, but it is very rewarding. It will demand a high level of commitment, extra work and practice. The course is challenging but extremely enjoyable and you will be fully supported and encouraged by staff. Students need to have a genuine interest in Maths and be prepared to push themselves in order to succeed.

Entry requirements

Minimum Grade 7 in GCSE Maths. You must achieve 75% in the suitability test.

Future opportunities

A Level Maths is very highly regarded by all universities and prospective employers, even if you are not looking to do something mathematics related.

It is useful for many Higher Education courses including Maths, Engineering, any of the Science based courses, Finance, Business, IT, Medicine and many more.
